About AK Starfish Co
AK Starfish Co. is based in Anchorage, Alaska, at 1045 E. Klatt Road. The company was founded in 2003 by Marci, a third-generation Alaskan, after she photographed a galaxy of starfish in Sadie Cove near Homer during an especially low tide. That experience inspired the brand’s first hand‑drawn starfish design, which became the foundation for a line of Alaskan‑themed apparel and gifts. The company designs and sells a range of clothing including heavyweight hoodies, pullovers, zippered hoodies, hats, joggers, and forest pants, along with accessories such as Hydro Flask bottles, jewelry, calendars, and gift cards. Collections are organized around motifs like AK Wild Salmon, AK Raven, AK Wildflower, AK Mermaid, and a 100% Cotton line. AK Starfish Co. primarily serves individual consumers through its e‑commerce site and physical shop, catering to Alaskans and visitors seeking authentic, locally inspired wearables. The brand also appeals to gift buyers looking for Alaskan souvenirs, though wholesale or B2B channels are not mentioned in the available information. The hand‑drawn, stippled artwork is positioned as a symbol Alaskans identify with, distinguishing the line from generic tourist merchandise.
