About Alcom LLC
Alcom LLC was founded in 2005 by Trapper Clark and Thomas Sturtevant in Waterville, Maine, beginning with an 8,000‑square‑foot leased facility. The company relocated to Winslow, Maine, in 2011 upon completion of a new 70,000‑square‑foot plant, which remains its headquarters. The founders were recognized as Maine’s Small Business Persons of the Year by the SBA in 2010. The company manufactures aluminum trailers, offering more than 160 standard models that span cargo, personal watercraft, horse and livestock, car hauler, snowmobile, landscape and utility, ATV, and motorcycle categories. It also provides customized open and enclosed solutions for its dealer network. Production is spread across four plants: Winslow, ME (70,000 sq ft plus a 35,000 sq ft high‑efficiency weld shop), Bonner, MT (over 170,000 sq ft), Sioux Falls, SD (58,000 sq ft), and Deland, FL (130,000 sq ft). As of 2021, Alcom employed more than 700 people nationwide and operates seven days a week on multiple shifts. Alcom sells primarily through a dealer network across the United States and Canada. Its trailers serve the powersports, agricultural, commercial, and recreational markets. Its “Dealers First” philosophy prioritizes service before, during, and after the sale, with a focus on quality components, skilled craftsmen, and keeping dealers informed to support their profitability.
