About Aurora Generators
Aurora Generators is based in Lewes, Delaware, and was founded in 2003 during the Great Northeast Blackout. The privately owned company began when the founders, frustrated by the noisy, unreliable generators available at the time, decided to build their own. The company designs and manufactures diesel generators for home backup, commercial and industrial facilities, off-grid living, telecom, and mobile applications. Its product line includes home standby units, continuous-duty commercial generators, off-grid and DC models for solar integration, bare-bones engine-alternator packages, towable and portable units, PTO-driven generators for farms, and vehicle-mounted systems. Aurora also supplies alternators, generator controllers, and transfer switches. All generators are assembled in-house at the company's facilities using components sourced from suppliers. Aurora serves residential customers, commercial building operators, industrial plants, telecom providers, off-grid homeowners, agricultural operations, and mobile service fleets. Its generators are used for backup power during outages, continuous-duty prime power, remote site electrification, and mobile job-site power. The company was started to address the shortcomings of existing generators—noise, emissions, and frequent failure. Aurora emphasizes quality components, expert in-house assembly, a customer-centric approach, ongoing R&D investment, and environmental responsibility through fuel efficiency and emissions reduction.
