About Beeken Parsons - Vermont Furniture Craftsmen
Beeken Parsons was established in 1983 by Vermont furniture makers Bruce Beeken and Jeff Parsons in the Farm Barn at Shelburne Farms, a 1,400-acre working farm and National Historic Landmark in Shelburne, Vermont. The studio began as a collaboration between the two craftsmen, focusing on custom furniture made to order. The company designs and fabricates custom furniture, integrating design, craftsmanship, and wood sourced from local forests. Operating as a furniture studio on the grounds of Shelburne Farms, Beeken Parsons produces pieces for both residential household clients and contract professionals. The client base spans residential customers and contract professionals furnishing institutional settings such as libraries, schools, religious buildings, and civic auditoriums. The studio works directly with clients to develop pieces suited to each environment. Beeken Parsons states that its process begins with careful listening and communication, integrating design and craftsmanship with the finest local woods. The founders describe their approach as paying deep attention to the art of making furniture beautifully, a philosophy that has guided the studio since its inception.
