About Carey's Electronics
Carey's Electronics traces its roots to 1932 when Ed's Radio Ray opened in Spencer, Iowa, selling radios to the Northwest Iowa community. The business has operated continuously under the Carey's name since at least 1978, maintaining a storefront in Spencer and a service presence in nearby Everly. The company provides full-service technology integration for homes, businesses, and vehicles. Its offerings span smart home automation, distributed audio and video, home theater design, lighting and security control, and mobile entertainment systems. A project typically moves from consultation and system design through professional installation to ongoing maintenance and support. The firm also operates a vintage vinyl record shop selling new and used LPs, turntables, cartridges, and cleaning supplies. Customers include residential homeowners seeking whole-home automation, commercial clients needing conference room AV or background music systems, and vehicle owners upgrading audio and video. The company serves the broader Northwest Iowa region, with installations ranging from single-room surround sound to multi-zone commercial control systems. Carey's emphasizes a three-step philosophy: help the client design and plan a system, supply quality products, and back them with fast, friendly service. That approach, combined with nine decades of local presence, positions the firm as a long-standing technology partner for the area.
