About Colorado Concept Electrical + Lighting
Colorado Concept Electrical + Lighting was founded in 1983 in Golden, Colorado, by master electrician, lighting designer, and electrical engineer Daniel McCord and his wife Nancy. The family-owned company began with a background in professional production lighting, including work on concerts for Pink Floyd, before expanding into residential and commercial electrical contracting. The firm provides full-service electrical, lighting, and control systems for residential and commercial clients. Services range from panel upgrades, rewiring, EV charger and generator installations to architectural lighting design, indoor and landscape lighting, LED and art lighting, window coverings, and smart control systems. Project experience spans single-fixture replacements to complete electrical and lighting systems for custom homes exceeding 55,000 square feet. The company serves homeowners, builders, remodelers, architects, interior and landscape designers, and commercial property owners across the Denver Metro, Colorado Foothills, and Front Range. It also handles museum and gallery lighting projects and partners with general contractors on tenant improvements and service upgrades. Colorado Concept traces its differentiation to its roots in professional lighting design, which shaped a philosophy that electrical systems are the foundation for lighting, comfort, functionality, and the overall experience of a space. The company emphasizes clear communication, code-compliant workmanship, and detailed project records to support long-term maintenance.
