About Columbus Woodworks
Columbus Woodworks operates from Lynchburg, Virginia, where it has manufactured custom wood storm doors and screen doors since 1991. The company was incorporated as Columbus Woodworks, Inc., and has built a reputation as a quality‑oriented manufacturer serving both residential and commercial markets. The facility functions as a full‑service architectural woodwork and millwork shop, providing complete design‑and‑build services along with installation. Its core product lines include custom‑size storm doors and screen doors with removable glass or screen panels, as well as historical restoration and reproduction work for residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Customers range from homeowners ordering single doors online to builders and architects specifying millwork for larger projects. The company’s online configurator allows buyers to design custom storm and screen doors directly, while its restoration services cater to historic preservation projects. Columbus Woodworks emphasizes its online custom‑door building capability as a key differentiator, enabling customers to specify dimensions, styles, and options without visiting a showroom. Recent supply‑chain disruptions have extended lead times for custom doors with removable panels to six weeks or more, a constraint the company communicates upfront.
