About Crabtree Auto
Crabtree Auto operates from Riverdale, Utah, just outside Ogden. The business traces its roots to a post-World War II body shop in Logan, where the Crabtree brothers began selling parts from their own vehicles. That parts operation evolved into a full-scale salvage yard, and in 1947 the company relocated to its current Riverdale location. Dahl Crabtree became sole owner and later passed the business to his sons, Miles and Colin Crabtree, who modernized the facilities. Today the third generation of the family directs the company. The yard purchases damaged vehicles ten model years old or newer, then dismantles, cleans, and tests the usable components. Inventory includes transmissions, engines, body panels (bumpers, fenders, hoods, doors), lighting, glass, mirrors, interior parts, tires, wheels, drivetrain and brake components. Thousands of cars and light trucks are pre-dismantled and shelved for immediate pickup or delivery. The facility serves both walk-in customers and commercial accounts across northern Utah. Primary customers are collision repair shops, insurance companies, other salvage yards, and individual vehicle owners. Crabtree Auto distinguishes itself through its ARA Certified Auto Recycler status and membership in the United Recyclers Group, which requires adherence to quality standards for recycled parts. The operation’s long-standing slogan — “CLEAN - ORGANIZED - QUICK SERVICE” — reflects its focus on facility upkeep and fast turnaround.
