About Crittco Cable & Fiber
Crittco Cable & Fiber operates from Jonesboro, Arkansas, where it was founded in 2002 by Matt Hale and Barry Brawner as a subsidiary of Crittco Construction. Hale brought two decades of water and sewer experience, while Brawner contributed 30 years in telecommunications. The company incorporated in May 2007 and is licensed in Arkansas and Tennessee. The firm functions as a full‑service utility contractor with directional drilling as its cornerstone. It runs six drill rigs ranging from a 7×11 unit for tight urban sites to a 24×40 rig capable of 28‑inch bores, and can pull back single steel or multiple poly pipes. Additional capabilities include copper and fiber‑optic splicing (single and ribbon), plowing, cable pulling and tugging, trenching and excavating with equipment up to a 200‑series excavator, utility locating, aerial fiber and copper placement, duct washing, fiber blowing, and sewer, water, drainage and electric installation. The operation occupies roughly 8,000 square feet of shop space plus storage and a covered wash bay, supported by a fleet of boring rigs, bucket trucks, backhoes, mini excavators, plows, vacuum excavators, bulldozers, and specialized safety gear. Headcount has grown from the original 12 to around 30 employees. Crittco serves telecommunications carriers such as Ritter Communications and AT&T, municipal utilities including City Water and Light, and commercial construction projects for Hino Motors, Sam’s Wholesale, Greene County Tech School, and Home Depot. It has also performed infrastructure work around new runways at Memphis International Airport and handles private subdivision and municipal projects in the Marion and West Memphis areas. The company emphasizes a family‑oriented culture, crediting its long‑tenured crew for on‑time performance and diversified project experience. Leadership states that respect for employees, continuous technological evolution, and a commitment to safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly workmanship set the operation apart.
