About CT Furniture Restoration – Antique & Vintage Repair | Refinishing & Woodwork | Upholstery | Custom Furniture Fabrication
CT Furniture Restoration operates from a workshop in Stratford, Connecticut, serving Fairfield County and clients nationwide. The business grew from the career of lead artisan Luis Solano, who began restoring furniture in 2000 at Maurice Villency before establishing his own shop. While the company's exact founding year is not stated, Solano's two decades of experience form the foundation of its craftsmanship. The workshop provides a full spectrum of furniture services: upholstery and reupholstery for antique, vintage, and modern pieces; wood refinishing including French polishing, custom staining, and structural frame repair; leather and vinyl restoration with color re-dyeing and patching; and custom furniture manufacturing. The latter includes bespoke fabrication for interior designers, architectural woodworking, millwork support, and CAD-to-build execution. The facility handles pickup and delivery across Connecticut and coordinates insured nationwide shipping. Clients range from homeowners and collectors to interior designers, architects, and commercial accounts. Trade professionals receive dedicated workroom services with trade pricing, project management, and fast-track scheduling. Projects cited include mid-century modern restorations (Danish chairs, teak credenzas), vintage executive desk refurbishment, and custom dining tables, credenzas, and upholstered seating built to specification for luxury residential and commercial interiors. Solano emphasizes a deep respect for craftsmanship and timeless design, describing each piece as a story to be honored through meticulous detail. The company positions its work as preserving original beauty while ensuring functionality, a philosophy that extends from heirloom restoration to new custom builds.
