About Custom Wood Artistry
Custom Wood Artistry operates from Peever, South Dakota, as a family-owned enterprise founded by Troy and Sharon Foster. Troy Foster, a disabled veteran of the U.S. Air Force, began woodworking after his military service, and the couple has run the business for over 50 years with the involvement of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The shop produces handcrafted wooden gifts and keepsakes, including cribbage boards, snack trays, serving bowls, boxes with magnetic lids, plaques, magnets, and wood toys. All items are made in the USA using domestic hardwoods such as sapele, wenge, bubinga, purpleheart, and zebrawood, with custom engraving available for personalization. Customers range from individuals seeking personalized gifts for birthdays, military recognition, or corporate thank-yous to restaurants and businesses ordering custom signs and decor. The company ships nationwide and emphasizes one-of-a-kind pieces shaped by multi-generational craftsmanship. The Fosters attribute their differentiation to the pride of a true family enterprise, the precision that comes from decades of hands-on skill, and the personal attention given to grain, finish, and detail in every piece.
