DeWys Manufacturing began in 1977 when Mark DeWys started the company in a small red barn on his parents’ property in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Drawing on experience from his grandfather’s tool-and-die shop, Mark initially produced tubular fireplace inserts and small metal parts. The business relocated to its current Marne, Michigan facility in 1986, and Mark’s brother Jon DeWys joined in 1987, later assuming leadership after Mark’s passing in 1999. The company remains family-owned. Today DeWys operates as DeWys Metal Solutions, a full-service contract metal manufacturer offering OEM precision sheet metal fabrication, forming and bending, laser cutting, turret punching, robotic and manual welding, machining, powder coating, product development, assembly, and contract manufacturing. The organization comprises six specialized brands—DeWys Manufacturing, DeWys Stainless Solutions, Wyze Designs, ReFab, Shoreline Powder Coating, and American Grower Resource—serving over 160 customers from a campus at 15300 8th Avenue in Marne.
