About Drews Solar
Drews Solar is a family-owned residential solar installation company based in Madison, Wisconsin. Founded in 2016 by Michael Drews, a licensed master electrician with a mechanical engineering degree from UW‑Madison, the business began after he spent more than a decade working with solar firms in Madison, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He returned to his home state and, together with his wife Maria Drews, a civil and environmental engineer, built a locally operated firm that serves south‑central Wisconsin homeowners. The company focuses exclusively on rooftop solar photovoltaic systems for single‑family homes. Its services cover the full project lifecycle: site evaluation, custom system design and engineering, permitting and utility interconnection paperwork, installation of panels, inverters and racking, and final grid connection. Drews Solar also offers battery storage installation and assists customers with incentive applications such as the Wisconsin Focus on Energy rebate. Since 2016 the team has completed over 400 residential installations, operating with a deliberately small crew of dedicated installers overseen directly by Michael Drews. Drews Solar serves homeowners in Madison and the surrounding counties of south‑central Wisconsin. Its customer base consists of residential property owners seeking to reduce electricity costs, achieve energy independence, or meet net‑zero goals. Testimonials reference projects for all‑electric homes, electric‑vehicle charging preparation, and retrofits on existing roofs. Maria Drews, recognized as a 2024 Wisconsin Clean Energy Champion, leads customer support to keep homeowners informed at every step.
