About E.S.S., Inc. - Nashville, Tennessee
E.S.S., Inc. is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and traces its roots to 1969 when Alex Taylor founded Sound Engineering as a division of Electric Business Machines. The company was initially led by Taylor's son‑in‑law Lutz Braun and has remained family‑owned through three generations; Ann Braun, Lutz's daughter, assumed ownership in 2003. The firm specializes in drive‑thru communications technology, offering system design, installation, and repair for all major brands, and is an authorized service provider for Fast Track timing systems. It also supplies background and foreground music services through partners such as SiriusXM, MixHits, and PlayNetwork, installs CCTV and security cameras, rents sound equipment for events, and sells or rents two‑way radios. A nationwide network of technicians provides on‑site service from coast to coast, supported by a second office opened in Memphis in 2004. Customers include quick‑service and full‑service restaurants, banks, convenience stores, and any business that operates a drive‑thru lane, as well as conference venues and general commercial clients needing audio or radio solutions. The company serves both independent operators and large national chains. E.S.S. emphasizes its family‑business values—answering phones personally, honoring honesty, and correcting mistakes quickly—as the foundation of its reputation. Its status as an authorized dealer for PAR, HME, Panasonic, and other brands, combined with a growing ship‑in repair operation and available financing through P.E.A.C. Solutions, distinguishes it in the drive‑thru and background‑music markets.
