About East Jordan Plastics
East Jordan Plastics operates from East Jordan, Michigan, where Ken and Shirley Diller founded East Jordan Box and Crate Co. four generations ago to produce wooden greenhouse flats for Midwestern bedding-plant growers. The business remains family-owned and has served the horticulture industry exclusively for nearly 80 years, evolving from wooden flats to a full line of sustainable plastic plant containers. The company injection-molds a comprehensive range of horticultural containers — SHUTTLE™ hanging baskets, planters and bowls; the patented SHUTTLE POT® STADIUM® pots and trays with squared-off sides for space-saving shipping; SHUTTLE POT® and SHUTTLE TRAY® lines built for quick de-nesting on automated lines; plus trays, carriers, flats, inserts, and precision-engineered plug and propagation trays. A closed-loop recycling program, certified for Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) content by AM Testing, feeds reclaimed material back into production. Customers are greenhouse and nursery growers, from large automated operations to smaller propagators. Bradford Greenhouses and Linwell Gardens are cited as users; the STADIUM line is noted to deliver 12–14% more growing space per bench. Trays and carriers are designed for automated destacking, filling, transplanting and transport equipment, while plug trays support both hand-sticking and high-volume seed sowing. The company says its differentiation comes from a single-industry focus, a closed-loop sustainability model that recycles used containers into new ones, and product designs — such as the STADIUM® line’s flat sides for labeling and offset printing — that address growers’ handling, shipping and marketing needs.
