About Electrical Equipment Company | EECO
Electrical Equipment Company (EECO) has operated from Raleigh, North Carolina since its founding in the early 20th century. The company will mark its 100th anniversary in September 2026, tracing its roots to its first location in Raleigh. EECO functions as a distributor and service provider for electrical and automation products. The company stocks and sells components from brands such as Eaton, Siemens, 3M, ABB, and others across categories including controllers, drives, sensors, safety devices, and wiring accessories. Beyond product distribution, EECO offers technical services: Installed Asset Analysis (IAA) to assess and plan modernization projects, Solution Architecture focused on Ethernet/IP adoption and smart-device connectivity, and System Planning for end-to-end project execution. A hands-on Connected Power Lab in Charleston, South Carolina provides a test environment for smart technologies. The company operates multiple warehouse locations and an online platform (EECOonline) with account-specific pricing, inventory visibility, an AI-powered SmartAgent for product queries, and a Quick Order tool for bulk entry. EECO serves industrial manufacturing plants, municipalities, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), power utilities, and process industries. Its customer base also includes machine builders and construction teams that rely on the company for both components and engineering support. The company emphasizes long-term partnerships and a “people and ideas before product” philosophy, positioning itself as a partner in modernization rather than a pure reseller. Its differentiation rests on the combination of a broad product portfolio, in-house engineering services, and digital tools that streamline procurement and technical decision-making.
