About Factory Furniture Company
Factory Furniture Company, based in Mauldin, South Carolina, has been family-owned and operated since 1964. The business was founded by the Kern family and has served the Upstate region for over five decades, offering factory-direct pricing on home furnishings by sourcing directly from manufacturers. The company operates as a retailer, carrying products from more than 34 name-brand furniture manufacturers and offering over 10,000 items across categories including living room, bedroom, dining, home office, and outdoor furniture. It maintains a showroom at 729 N. Main St. in Mauldin and coordinates delivery directly from manufacturers to customers' doors. The company also provides financing options through a lending partner. Factory Furniture Company serves residential customers in the Upstate South Carolina area seeking home furnishings. Its customer base includes homeowners furnishing multiple rooms, as well as those looking for specific pieces such as bedroom sets, dining tables, or office furniture. The company works with brands across the furniture industry but does not manufacture products itself. The Kern family started the business to help local residents furnish their homes without the markup of traditional big-box retail stores. By ordering directly from manufacturers, the company says it can offer prices that conventional retailers cannot match, and it emphasizes knowledgeable, non-commissioned staff who know the product lines.
