About Farmville Wholesale Electric Supply Co., Inc.
Farmville Wholesale Electric Supply Co., Inc. operates from Farmville, Virginia, where it was founded in 1972 by Lynwood G. Smith, known locally as "Linnie." Smith and his two brothers had previously run Smitty Brothers Electric Company, a contracting and retail firm they owned for over four decades after World War II. Smith's long-held ambition to enter the wholesale electrical market was realized through his two sons with the formation of FWESCO. The company functions as a wholesale electrical distributor with a 4,000-square-foot showroom and a dedicated sales counter. Its product range spans lighting fixtures such as chandeliers, ceiling fans, and outdoor lighting, along with a full line of electrical supplies. A virtual showroom allows customers to preview fixtures and layouts online before visiting in person. The company emphasizes personalized service from a knowledgeable staff, wholesale pricing, and the convenience of both a physical showroom and an online virtual tour as key differentiators.
