About FORMA Custom Furniture
FORMA Custom Furniture operates from Madison, Wisconsin, where founders Molly and Jim Papadopoulos established the company to create long-lasting objects that encourage a slower pace of daily life. Molly, with a degree in arts management and over 15 years in retail, guides the business strategy and design direction. The workshop produces the RJF Legacy Collection, a line of shelving, coffee tables, consoles, benches, and sculptures originally designed by Richard Judd. Each piece is made to order using bent plywood lamination and exotic veneers, processes Jim learned while working with Judd in Paoli, Wisconsin. The company's capabilities include custom furniture design, woodworking, finish carpentry, welding, and exotic veneer application. All pieces are custom manufactured on demand, with no stock inventory. The founders say they started FORMA to "slow down and make long lasting objects," and they differentiate through exclusive access to the Judd designs, a focus on bent plywood techniques, and a made-to-order model that ensures each item is one-of-a-kind.
