About Gary Weeks and Company Furnituremakers
From the start, the focus has been on designing and building furniture that meets high standards of craftsmanship, ergonomics, beauty, and longevity. The shop produces a range of solid-wood furniture, with the Weeks Rocker® as its signature piece. The product line includes rocking chairs in cherry, walnut, maple, and mesquite; dining chairs (Wilson, Williams, Webb models); dining tables (trestle, pedestal, leg-and-apron styles); barstools; and custom pieces such as desks, cabinets, and tables. Production relies on traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, hand sculpting and sanding, and hand-rubbed oil or varnish finishes. The facility houses a woodshop, showroom, finishing rooms, and a lumber shed, supported by custom machines, jigs, compressed air, and dust collection. The company describes itself as a small, custom shop that ships worldwide. The company sells directly to individual customers across the United States and internationally, including Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, and South America. No specific industry verticals are cited beyond residential furniture and custom woodworking. The company emphasizes several differentiators: a comfort guarantee on its rocker that includes a full refund with round-trip shipping paid by the shop; a commitment to “no cookies, no popups, no ads” on its website; and a depth of online detail covering design criteria, wood selection, and construction methods. The founders’ intent, as reflected in a quoted Barbara Tuchman passage, is that quality requires intensive effort and honesty of purpose.
