About Glaser Steel
Glaser Steel, a family-owned steel supplier and fabricator, has operated in Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1945. It began as H & G Welding, founded by Eugene Glaser and his brother-in-law Frank Holley in a former horse stable on Cucharras Street. Eugene later became sole owner, renaming it Glaser Welding Works, and his son Burton 'Buddy' Glaser joined the shop after high school. The business relocated to its present address at 619 South 31st Street in 1969 after the city acquired the downtown property. The company stocks mild steel and aluminum in full lengths and sells by the inch, also offering a drop pile of remnants. Its shop provides custom saw cutting, shearing, drilling, punching, welding and fabrication, and CNC plasma cutting of sheets and plates. A 2005 expansion added capacity for larger plate inventory and a plasma cutting table. Glaser Steel also delivers materials and finished fabrications to local job sites. Glaser Steel serves customers throughout the Front Range region, including retail buyers, contractors, and fabrication shops that need custom metalwork or raw stock. The business has remained under family control through multiple generations; it is currently operated by Jacque and Tony Jensen, the daughter and son-in-law of Buddy Glaser.
