About Hahn Packaging Inc
Hahn Packaging operates from Fort Smith, Arkansas, where it was founded in 1923 as the TJ Smith Box Company by sisters Bird Smith Johnson and Isla Re Smith Vaile. The business began in their garage with two pieces of used equipment, and the sisters served as the sales force across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Louisiana. Since 1996, the company has been owned and operated by two generations of the Hahn family, with Richard Hahn as president until 2014 and his son Chris Hahn taking over thereafter. In 2023, the firm adopted the Hahn Packaging name to reflect the current family leadership. The company manufactures folding cartons and rigid set-up boxes, offering a range of styles including tuck-end, auto-lock, and gable-top cartons, as well as custom set-up boxes with printed exteriors and die-cut interior trays. Hahn Packaging serves orders from as few as 1,000 pieces up to several hundred thousand, positioning itself as a one-stop shop from design and prototyping through production and shipping. Primary customers are wholesalers and distributors across various industries, though specific sectors are not detailed in the source material. The product line also includes business card and stationery boxes designed for functionality and sustainability, indicating a focus on commercial and professional packaging needs. Leadership emphasizes a commitment to quality and innovation, citing the company's forward-thinking approach and exploration of new technologies and materials as key differentiators. The family-owned heritage is presented as a foundation for maintaining high standards and customer service.
