About Idaho Manufacturing Alliance
The Idaho Manufacturing Alliance (IMA) operates from Nampa, Idaho. It was founded in the fall of 2013 as the Southwest Idaho Manufacturers' Alliance (SWIMA) by a group of local manufacturing executives and economic development representatives who recognized the distinct challenges and opportunities facing manufacturers in the region. The organization began hosting events in 2014 and launched official membership in December 2014. In 2021, SWIMA rebranded as the Idaho Manufacturing Alliance to expand its impact statewide. IMA serves as a member organization representing Idaho's manufacturing sector, uniting more than 200 member companies that collectively represent approximately 2,200 manufacturers and a $21.5 billion industry. The alliance focuses on three pillars: connecting manufacturers through events, training, and networking; supporting the sector with workforce development, talent pipeline initiatives, and sourcing assistance; and promoting the industry by advocating for favorable policies and raising public awareness of manufacturing careers. The organization's members span the breadth of Idaho's manufacturing base, including supply chain partners, business advisors, and strategic partners. IMA was created by manufacturers, for manufacturers, with a mission to nurture an environment of knowledge sharing, innovation, and sustainable growth. Its core values emphasize passion for the industry, advocacy through collaboration, dedication to authenticity and service, and building awareness through knowledge sharing.
