Iowa Steel & Wire Co

About Iowa Steel & Wire Co

Iowa Steel & Wire Co operates in Centerville, Iowa, as part of the OKBRAND family of companies founded in 1979 by B. L. Moore and his brother-in-law Robert Lockridge in Madill, Oklahoma. The Moore family reopened the Iowa facility in 1989 to focus on industrial wire products, and the family continues to own and direct daily operations today. The company produces a complete line of agricultural fencing — including livestock panels, barbed wire, field fence, and horse-safe Max-Tight and Max-Loc systems — as well as industrial wire products such as welded wire fabric, commodity mesh, mine mesh, box culverts, pipe fabric, and structural reinforcement. Production is vertically integrated: an electric arc furnace melts 100% recycled scrap into billets, a rolling mill forms wire rod, and multiple EVG and Schlatter welders with high-speed straight-and-cut lines handle fabrication. Customers span agriculture, construction, mining, and infrastructure markets. The Moore family’s philosophy emphasizes continuous improvement, employee safety, and competitive pricing. Vertical integration and domestic melting allow the company to control quality and lead times, while a product warranty backs every shipment.
