About Island Pacific Distributors
Island Pacific Distributors was founded on October 2, 1978, by Barbara and Leon Wolfley in Honolulu, Hawaii. The company began as a wholesale hardware and locksmith supply operation on King Street, serving the high-rise condominium boom in Waikiki and the Ala Wai corridor. In 2014, the business transitioned to an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), making it fully employee-owned. Today, IPD operates from a 35,000-square-foot facility in the Iwilei area of Oahu that includes offices, a warehouse, a showroom, and a steel door and frame fabrication shop. The shop is the only Warnock Hersey–marked facility in the state certified by Intertek to build and modify Assa Abloy’s Curries hollow metal doors and frames. The company distributes doors, frames, finish hardware, security products, and specialty building products, and also provides consultation, design, specification writing, installation, maintenance, electronic access control, and in-house locksmith services. IPD serves architects, general contractors, and facility managers across Hawaii’s hospitality, commercial construction, government, and luxury residential sectors. Notable projects include the Allure Waikiki, Moana Surfrider, Sheraton Moana Surfrider, Four Seasons Resort Lanai, Disney Aulani Resort, Hokua, and the Kapolei Judiciary Complex. The company also lists medical, dental, and vision insurance among its served industries.
