About iSP (Ion Solar Pros)
Ion Solar Pros (iSP) was founded in 2017 by solar industry veteran Bill Barrieau in Middlebury, Connecticut. The company began as a local solar installation firm focused on providing full-service residential and commercial solar solutions across the Northeast. iSP designs, permits, installs, and maintains solar energy systems, home battery storage, EV chargers, and roofing through its in-house teams. The company handles the entire project lifecycle — from initial consultation and custom engineering to permitting, utility interconnection, and post-installation service. Crews complete most residential installations in a single day, and a dedicated service department supports both iSP-installed systems and orphaned arrays from other providers. The company serves homeowners and businesses throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island. Its residential customers include families seeking to reduce electricity bills and gain energy independence, while commercial clients range from small businesses to larger facilities requiring rooftop or ground-mount arrays. iSP also provides roof replacement and storm-damage repair through its partner ISP Roofing, ensuring sites are solar-ready. iSP differentiates itself through vertical integration: all design, installation, and service work is performed by employees rather than subcontractors. The firm holds NABCEP certification, Tesla Energy Certified Installer status, and Solar Insure 30-year warranty partnerships, and has earned consecutive Better Business Bureau Innovative Marketing Awards (2023, 2024). Its stated mission is to revolutionize the energy landscape by providing freedom, sustainability, and preservation.
