Marshall Dry Goods Co., Inc. was founded in 1944 by Hassel Marshall in Batesville, Arkansas. What began as a general dry goods store selling clothing, blankets, and yarn gradually shifted toward fabrics. In 1985, Marshall Bentley and his father, Larry Bentley, took over the business, and Marshall Bentley remains the owner today, having completed the transition to a 100-percent fabric operation. The company now designs and manufactures its own fabric lines, offering more than 5,000 SKUs with a focus on 100% cotton prints in 45-inch and 108-inch widths. Production uses both conventional rotary and digital printing, supporting a library of over 4,000 exclusive designs that are refreshed weekly. Beyond cotton prints, the mill produces batiks, flannels, minky, fleece, broadcloth, muslin, and quilt batting in 80/20 cotton-polyester, 100% cotton, and 100% polyester blends, available in widths up to 120 inches. Marshall Dry Goods serves quilters, crafters, and independent retailers across the United States through both wholesale and retail channels. Its wholesale division supplies fabric by the bolt to shop owners, while the online store and the Batesville brick-and-mortar location sell by the yard. The company also operates Marshall’s Quilt House, a retreat space across the street from the main facility.
