About Moody Mountain Solar
Moody Mountain Solar operates from Searsmont, Maine, and was founded in the spring of 2020 by Cory Alexander. After 15 years in the boat-building industry and a lifetime of off-grid living at sea and on land, Alexander started the company to deliver a more personalized solar design and installation experience. The business remains owner-operated, with Alexander serving as the NABCEP-certified system designer and the single point of contact for every project. The company installs rooftop arrays, ground-mount systems, and off-grid power solutions across Midcoast Maine and the islands of Penobscot Bay. Its rooftop work emphasizes roof integrity, drawing on building-trades experience to ensure watertight mounts on asphalt, metal, and EPDM surfaces. Ground-mount installations incorporate bifacial panels, while off-grid systems use modern lithium battery storage. Customers include homeowners seeking grid-tied systems, seasonal camps replacing generators, and island properties requiring micro-grid independence. Alexander founded Moody Mountain Solar to offer premium service at a reasonable cost while maintaining a neighborly, community-focused approach.
