About National Solar
National Solar was founded in 2009 in Bend, Oregon, by Janelle Lancaster, who serves as president. The woman-owned, Oregon-based company began as a local solar installer committed to keeping design, installation, and service under one roof rather than handing projects off to subcontractors. The firm designs, installs, and services residential solar photovoltaic systems, battery storage (primarily Enphase), and EV charging equipment across Oregon. All work is performed by its own crews, from permitting and utility paperwork through final inspection. The company also troubleshoots, repairs, and removes existing systems, including those it did not originally install, and backs installations with a 10-year workmanship warranty and 25-year panel coverage. National Solar serves Oregon homeowners, including landlords adding solar to rental properties, and works with the state's major utilities — Pacific Power, Portland General Electric, Eugene Water & Electric, and numerous electric cooperatives — to process Energy Trust of Oregon incentives. Its service territory spans from Central Oregon to the coast. Lancaster started the business to provide a single point of accountability for the life of a system: the same team that designs a project installs and maintains it, with no call centers and no service-call fees during the warranty period. The approach has earned the company a high Energy Trust of Oregon rating and three consecutive Best Solar Service Company awards from the Bend community.
