About Nj Cable Telecommunications
The New Jersey Cable and Internet Association (NJCIA) is headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey. Founded in 1965 as a voluntary trade organization, it serves as the collective voice for the state's major cable telecommunications providers. The association operates under a board of directors drawn from its member companies. NJCIA does not manufacture products; rather, it provides industry representation, government affairs advocacy, and economic research on behalf of its members—Comcast Cable Communications, Altice USA (operator of the Optimum brand), and Charter Communications (operator of the Spectrum brand). The association reports that its members collectively contribute $12.6 billion in economic impact to New Jersey and sustain approximately 75,975 direct and indirect jobs across all 12 congressional districts. Activities include advocating for broadband infrastructure investment, supporting federal programs such as the Affordable Connectivity Program, and publishing industry data. The association serves the cable telecommunications, broadband internet, video services, and mobile communications industries in New Jersey. Its work benefits residents and businesses statewide by promoting network expansion and connectivity. As a state chapter affiliated with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), NJCIA coordinates with national policy efforts. The organization was established to unify the cable industry's voice in Trenton and to demonstrate the sector's economic value to policymakers and the public. Member companies state that continued infrastructure investment is essential to meeting growing demand for high-quality broadband, video, and mobile services.
