About Nordstrom's Automotive, Inc.
Nordstrom's Automotive, Inc. operates from Garretson, South Dakota, just minutes from Sioux Falls. The family-owned business was founded in 1969 and has grown from a local auto recycler to a regional supplier with an online presence reaching customers across the United States. The company's roots are tied to the Nordstrom family, with Marie Nordstrom referenced as a family member upholding a "Praise The Lord Always" philosophy since 1973. The company specializes in automotive recycling, dismantling vehicles to harvest Recycled Original Equipment (ROE) parts, OEM surplus, remanufactured components, and aftermarket alternatives. Its computerized inventory spans thousands of parts for cars, trucks, and SUVs, with a focus on late-model General Motors vehicles. The operation includes a full-service auto recycling facility, a self-service yard, and an e-commerce platform that ships worldwide via FedEx, UPS, SpeeDee, and national LTL carriers. Additional revenue streams come from repairable vehicles, used tires, and accessories pulled from dismantled units. The business also maintains dedicated phone lines for parts inquiries in Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Kentucky, suggesting a broader distribution network. Military veterans and active-duty personnel receive discounted pricing with valid identification. The company differentiates itself through its ARA Gold Seal certification, a standard 199-day limited warranty with an optional 99-year extended warranty and a 33-day money-back guarantee. Family ownership and the PTLA ethos are cited as cultural foundations, while professional shipping logistics and a "complete confidence" warranty program aim to reduce buyer risk.
