About NU Packaging
NU Packaging operates from Salt Lake City, Utah. The company was founded in 2001 by Jim, who had spent two decades in the packaging industry and wanted to bring a more creative, enjoyable approach to the business. It remains family-owned and operated. Jim passed away in June 2025, and the team continues to run the business according to his original vision. NU Packaging functions as both a wholesale packaging distributor and a box manufacturer. Following the acquisition of a local box-making facility, the company produces custom-sized corrugated boxes on demand at its Salt Lake City plant. It also provides vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and stocking agreements backed by live inventory reporting updated every 12 hours. Delivery runs daily with next-day service to the Salt Lake and Utah Valleys, and twice weekly to Davis and Weber Counties with on-demand flexibility. The staff collectively holds over 120 years of packaging experience. Its customer base includes technology firms in the Silicon Slopes corridor, manufacturers in Ogden and Davis County, and other organizations needing wholesale packaging supplies, custom corrugated designs, or automated packaging solutions. Jim started the company to inject a sense of fun and creativity into packaging, emphasizing innovation, reliability, and a welcoming culture. NU Packaging differentiates itself through a local, human-staffed customer service team, on-demand manufacturing that cuts material waste and shipping costs, and a "Full Package" model that designs, manufactures, stocks, and delivers packaging under one roof.
