About Nutmeg Table Company
Nutmeg Table Company operates from Waterbury, Connecticut, where it produces made-to-order furniture in small batches. The company does not publish a founding year, but its work is led by Steve, who appears in customer testimonials as the primary point of contact. The business began with a focus on building pieces that combine structural integrity with a custom fit for each client’s space. The shop builds custom coffee tables, dining tables, butcher blocks, and vanities using primarily FAS-grade, kiln-dried American hardwood sourced from New England lumber yards. Each project starts with detailed shop drawings that the customer approves before any cutting begins. Production is kept in-house, with boards selected per project and finished to the client’s specifications. The company does not disclose facility size, headcount, or annual volume. Nutmeg serves residential customers and interior designers through a trade program. Testimonials reference kitchen islands, dining tables, and butcher blocks delivered to homes across New England and the New York City area, with freight shipping available nationwide. Designers receive trade benefits, and the company offers a sample program so clients can test finishes in their own lighting. The company emphasizes Connecticut craftsmanship, material transparency, and a collaborative process. By reviewing shop drawings and providing completion photos before shipment, Nutmeg aims to give customers control over the final piece. White-glove delivery in the Northeast and a focus on structural joinery are presented as key differentiators.
