Ohio Steel Industries was founded in 1958 in Columbus, Ohio, when a single employee began operating a structural steel fabrication shop in a 25,000-square-foot facility serving central Ohio. The company has since expanded to multiple locations totaling more than 300,000 square feet and serves customers worldwide. The business operates through three divisions. The Manufacturing Division provides contract fabrication of lawn and garden riding mower attachments, utility trailers, loading ramps, and display merchandising, using processes that include stamping, welding, bending, cutting, forming, powder coating, packaging, and shipping. OSI Plastics, an ISO 9001:2015-registered division, produces extruded plastic profiles for utilities, telecommunications firms, and other large enterprises across the United States and Europe. The Structural Steel Division, housed in a 120,000-square-foot plant in Pataskala, fabricates, furnishes, and erects structural steel for buildings and bridges and holds AISC certification for standard, simply supported, and major bridge structures. Customers range from retail mass merchants and OEM lawn-and-garden manufacturers to distributors, dealers, public utilities, and telecommunications companies. The structural division serves the construction sector, while the plastics division supplies large publicly traded companies. Products are shipped globally, with a particular presence in the U.S. and European markets.
