About Paul Rene Furniture Studio
Paul Rene Furniture Studio operates from Phoenix, Arizona, as a private commission studio founded by Paul Rene. After years designing concept vehicles at Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Rene relocated to Los Angeles where a business collapse led him to rebuild his practice in Phoenix. The studio has accepted private commissions for over two decades, producing one-of-one sculptural furniture. The studio creates dining furniture, executive offices, libraries and studies, and architectural media walls. Each piece originates from a deep conversation about the client's rituals and space, with no replication across commissions. Output is limited to four commissions per month, supplemented by the Kallos Collection — a limited edition of nineteen signed and numbered pieces per design, released once. Clients are discerning collectors and luxury residential projects in Arizona and beyond. The studio's work has been featured in The New York Times, at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) and IDS Toronto as a featured speaker, on HBO Max's Ellen's Next Great Designer, and in Phoenix Home & Garden, Iconic Life Magazine, and Atomic Ranch. Rene's background in automotive concept design informs a philosophy that furniture should express the life lived within a space, not follow catalogs or trends. The studio operates by appointment only, responding to inquiries within 24 hours.
