Progressive Scale & Software Solutions

About Progressive Scale & Software Solutions

Progressive Scale & Software Solutions was founded in 1976 in Bethel, Connecticut, at the moment the weighing industry was shifting from mechanical to electronic instruments. Today the firm operates as a single-source integrator: it specifies Rice Lake, A&D, Digi, Ohaus, and Totalcomp indicators and platforms; programs PLC logic, label formats, and ERP connections; and fields factory-trained technicians for on-site calibration and repair across Connecticut and the Northeast. Its proprietary Windows-based Provision Processing System (PPS) serves meat, poultry, and seafood plants with catch-weight labeling, lot traceability, and QuickBooks integration. More than 5,000 systems have been installed in five countries, supported by a network of 3,000 business partners that include end users and scale dealers worldwide. The customer base spans discrete manufacturing and protein processing. In manufacturing, the company delivers component counting and kitting, automated fill-to-target, checkweighing with barcode validation, and data collection to ERP, MES, and AS/400 systems. In meat, poultry, and seafood, it provides harvest stations, scale carts, washdown enclosures, and the PPS software for yield tracking and order fulfillment. Named references include PepsiCo, Stanley Black & Decker, Thule, Snake River Farms, United States Surgical (Covidien), a major switch manufacturer, and a fish processor using pay-by-weight stations. The company says its differentiation lies in eliminating the vendor gap — it sells the scale, writes the controls and data-collection software, and calibrates the installed system, so responsibility for the integration rests with one team. Round-the-clock technician consultation is offered because a stopped line does not wait for business hours.
