Ryan Powers had spent five years as an investment associate at JPMorgan in New York City, while John Powers served as president and COO of AEP Industries for 29 years until its acquisition by Berry Global in January 2017. In November 2017, the company acquired the Packaging Supply Division of Admiral Packaging, a Providence, Rhode Island business with roots dating back to 1898 as the Union Paper Company. To support growth, RJP purchased a 50,000-square-foot warehouse in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, which serves as its headquarters and includes a wholesale retail store open to the public on weekdays. The company operates as a full-service packaging distributor, offering a broad range of products including stretch film, poly bags, strapping, bubble wrap, mailers, tape, and equipment. It also acts as the marketing arm for a plastic film manufacturing facility in Weldon, North Carolina, supplying flexible film to the New England market. Through acquisitions — Aggressive Packaging in Lincoln, Rhode Island (August 2018) and Legacy Supply in Fall River, Massachusetts (November 2019) — RJP expanded its product lines and customer relationships across southern New England.
