About SolarReviews
SolarReviews operates from Denver, Colorado, where it was founded in 2013 by Australian entrepreneurs Andy Sendy and Vassie Fitzgerald. The company, owned by Solar Investments Inc., began after the co-founders recognized a disconnect between American consumers and solar installers, setting out to provide resources for researching solar panels, connecting with installers, and getting solar on roofs. The platform provides a solar cost and savings calculator that requires only a zip code and electricity bill, an unbiased consumer review platform covering U.S. solar companies and equipment, and a matching service that connects homeowners with up to four local installers. The editorial team, with more than 50 years of combined solar industry experience, produces expert rankings and articles cited by outlets such as NPR, CNBC, and Bloomberg. SolarReviews reports having assisted over 1.6 million consumers with their solar journeys. The service serves two primary audiences: homeowners evaluating residential solar options and solar installation companies seeking qualified leads. Installers can register to receive consumer inquiries filtered by service categories ranging from grid-tied residential systems to battery storage and off-grid installations. The company partners with industry organizations including SEIA, CALSSA, NABCEP, and Solar Energy International. SolarReviews emphasizes trust, expertise, and privacy as differentiators. Its calculator does not collect personal information, consumers control how many installers contact them, and data can be removed on request. The company states that none of its journalists or editors has a financial relationship with any solar manufacturer, distributor, or installer, and that it drops partners who sell consumer data.
