Southrock Engineering Inc. is based in Mesa, Arizona, and was founded in 2006 by Peter and Christine Hall. Both had worked in the electronics industry for over 20 years, and in 2006 they acquired JR Electronics from the estate of its original founder, a company that had produced specialized cable assemblies for industrial customers for more than a decade. With backgrounds in electronic hardware design, microprocessors, and software, the Halls expanded from contract design projects into full electronic manufacturing, investing in modern wire processing, crimping equipment, and surface-mount pick-and-place capability. The company designs and assembles custom printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) using both surface-mount and through-hole processes, builds custom cable and wire harness assemblies, provides full-service box build assembly with enclosure integration, and offers PCB and cable assembly prototyping from single units to small batches. It also performs PCBA reverse engineering to address obsolete designs, hard-to-source components, or offshore vendor constraints. All assembly work is performed to IPC standards; the shop is UL certified and RoHS compliant. There are no minimum order quantities, and the facility supports volumes from prototype through production runs.
