About Sun Up Zero Down
Sun Up Zero Down was founded in 2013 in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The company has grown into a regional solar installation provider backed by over 50 years of combined industry experience among its team members. The company designs and installs solar energy systems for residential and commercial properties across six states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Illinois. Its full-service process covers site evaluation (using satellite imagery and 3D shade modeling), financing assistance, permitting, installation, and utility interconnection. Installations typically take one to two days, though utility meter approval can add three to six weeks. Beyond solar, Sun Up Zero Down also offers roof replacement as a dealer for major shingle manufacturers, and provides ongoing maintenance including system diagnostics, inverter troubleshooting (SolarEdge, Enphase, SMA), panel replacement, and critter guard installation. To date, the firm has completed thousands of installations for more than 2,000 property owners. Customers range from homeowners seeking to reduce electric bills to commercial property owners pursuing energy independence. The company serves clients throughout its six-state footprint, with detailed county-level coverage in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Projects are customized to each property's roof, energy usage, and shading conditions. Sun Up Zero Down emphasizes a turnkey approach, handling all paperwork, design, permits, and utility coordination. It differentiates itself through price transparency (no hidden fees), full licensing and insurance including workers' compensation, and a 25-year product warranty on roofing materials. The company has earned three Gold medals in the "Best of The Press" awards and appeared on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies.
