About The Amish Gallery
The Amish Gallery operates in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where it traces its roots to Home of Economy Home Furnishings, a local retailer that served the region for over six decades. In 2006, the business began transitioning to Amish-made furniture after receiving its first shipment from Country View Woodworking of Holmes County, Ohio. The company is locally owned and operated, though no individual founders are named in public materials. The gallery functions as a retail showroom and dealer for solid-wood and upholstered furniture built by Amish workshops. It stocks items for immediate purchase and also places custom orders with suppliers such as Country View Woodworking and Smith Brothers of Berne, Indiana, allowing customers to specify wood species, finish, hardware, fabric, and leather. The showroom employs a sales team of at least six advisors who assist with design consultation and order management. The shift to Amish furniture was driven by a desire to offer domestically produced alternatives as mainstream brands moved manufacturing overseas. The company emphasizes that all pieces are made or assembled in the USA, finished with catalyzed conversion varnish for durability, and backed by supplier warranties ranging from one year to limited lifetime coverage.
