United Poly Systems was established in 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by founders Jim Massengale and Bert Bridges, who brought over 40 years of combined industry experience. The company began with two HDPE pipe production lines and expanded to four by 2013. A second state-of-the-art manufacturing facility opened in Albuquerque in 2015, and four additional lines were added across both plants over the following four years. In June 2022, Atkore, Inc. (founded 1959, based in Harvey, IL) acquired United Poly Systems, and the business has since been acquired by Infra Pipe Solutions. The company manufactures high- and medium-density polyethylene (HDPE/MDPE) pipe and conduit in diameters from 3/4-in. to 26-in. IPS, 4-in. to 24-in. DIPS, and 3/4-in. to 2-in. CTS. Operations span multiple plants across Allendale, SC; Thomasville, GA; Springfield, MO; Albuquerque, NM; Lovelady, TX; Dallas, TX; and Woodburn, OR. In its first decade, United Poly Systems produced over 120,000 miles of pipe. The manufacturing process includes resin quality inspections (cleanliness, carbon black content, melt flow index, density), dimensional testing (diameter, wall thickness, eccentricity, ovality, out-of-round), and tensile property testing (elongation at break, ring tensile burst, quick burst). Products are available in 12 colors with custom striping, packaged in reels, sticks, or coils, and can be customized with ribbed interiors, pull tape, or lubricated interiors. United Poly Systems serves the broadband and telecommunications, power and communications, oil and gas, and energy utility markets. Customers include telecommunications contractors, broadband providers such as Foothills Broadband, utility district contractors, and electrical/high-voltage infrastructure projects. The company’s product suites — Comm-Line™, MicroPath™, Power-Line™, Pro-Line™, Sleeve-It!™, Hard-Line™, and Cable-in-Conduit — are designed for communications conduit, microduct, electrical conduit, large-diameter PVC replacement, and cable-in-conduit applications. The company emphasizes its agile business model, coast-to-coast manufacturing footprint that reduces freight costs and lead times, and compliance with the Buy American Act for domestic sourcing. Its quality program covers resin, dimensional, and burst testing to UL, NSF, AWWA, and ASTM standards.
