About Wichita Furniture Main Distribution Center
Wichita Furniture & Mattress operates from its main distribution center at 4200 West Kellogg in Wichita, Kansas. The business was founded in 1989 as a 10,000-square-foot showroom on Second and Cleveland, offering a hassle-free consignment alternative for gently used furniture alongside manufacturer closeouts. It remains a locally owned, family-operated enterprise. The company functions as a full-line furniture and mattress retailer rather than a manufacturer. Its current facility, expanded after a 1990 relocation to a space three times the original size, stocks living-room, dining-room, bedroom, home-office, baby and kids, outdoor, and home-theater categories. Inventory includes mattresses from Tempur-Pedic, Nectar, Sealy, Stearns & Foster, and others, plus bedding, décor, and accessories. The operation employs more than 150 people and provides in-house financing, delivery tracking, and a weekly promotional ad. The store serves residential consumers throughout the Wichita metro area, emphasizing immediate availability with “Shop In-Stock & Get It Today” messaging. Brands carried range from Ashley and Ashley Sleep to Bedgear, IntelliGrid, and Powerbases. Bilingual support (English and Spanish) is offered via phone, chat, and in-store assistance. The founders positioned the business as a value-driven alternative to traditional furniture retailers, promoting “MORE Choices and BIGGER Savings.” Community recognition includes 15 consecutive years as the market’s voted #1 furniture and mattress store, a distinction the company cites as evidence of its service model.
