About Woodlore, LLC
Woodlore, LLC operates from Fairfield in Rockbridge County, Virginia. The company was founded on the principle of salvaging local trees that have fallen due to storms or urbanization, rather than harvesting live timber. No founding year or founder names are publicly disclosed, and ownership structure is not specified. The company mills salvaged logs into natural live edge slabs and fabricates custom furniture including tables, desks, benches, mantels, countertops, and bar tops. All processing—from log salvage to finishing—occurs under one roof. Woodlore also provides portable sawmill services using a Wood-Mizer LT50 Wide hydraulic sawmill, and kiln drying via an iDRY vacuum kiln with a capacity of 13 feet long by 48 inches wide by 55 inches thick (stickered lumber pile), handling up to 2,000 board feet per cycle. Drying time averages approximately one week per inch of lumber thickness. Facility size, employee count, and annual production volumes are not disclosed. The company’s stated mission is to give new life to dead trees, providing organic furnishings and artisan materials while caring for the environment. Woodlore emphasizes honesty, integrity, and quality craftsmanship, and differentiates itself by keeping the entire process—from salvage to finished product—in-house, allowing clients to participate in wood selection and design.
