Arcadia Manufacturing Group was founded in 1969 by James T. Sumner in Green Island, New York. Sumner began the business from his living room and the trunk of his car, supplying drills, taps, and saw blades. In 1979 his son William Sumner joined the company, and together they expanded it into a premium metals service center offering specialty metals, cutting tools, and precision cutting services. Today the company operates as a registered veteran-owned small business with two facilities totaling 88,000 square feet. The group provides full-service, in-house contract manufacturing of fabricated metal parts, components, and assemblies. Its capabilities span waterjet cutting (multi-head tables up to 144 by 286 inches), laser cutting (Trumpf fiber lasers up to 1-inch thick carbon steel), CNC machining (4-axis vertical and horizontal centers holding ±0.0005-inch tolerances), certified welding (GMAW, GTAW, stud and plasma processes), fabrication (rolling, bending, punching, drilling, saw cutting), and assembly (sub-components, full assemblies, kitting). Design engineering and project management support round out the turnkey offering. Arcadia serves customers across the transportation, architectural, infrastructure, energy, medical, military, defense, and construction industries throughout the United States.
