About Ashley Furniture Industries Manufacturing and Distribution Center
Ashley Furniture Industries operates a manufacturing and distribution center in Ecru, Mississippi. The company traces its roots to 1976 when Ron Wanek and a group of investors acquired a furniture business in Arcadia, Wisconsin, with 35 employees producing wood occasional furniture in a 35,000-square-foot plant. The business remains family-led under the Wanek family. Today, Ashley manufactures furniture across 13 million square feet (300 acres) of factory space. The company produces a wide range of home furnishings including upholstered seating, dining room sets, leather and motion upholstery, outdoor furniture, baby furniture, and ready-to-assemble (RTA) items. Its products reach consumers worldwide through an international supply chain supported by family companies handling manufacturing, distribution, and transportation. Founded on the belief that furniture could be made a better way, Ashley emphasizes continuous improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement as core values. The company cites its "Dirty Fingernails" ethos—hands-on involvement in production—as a differentiator.
