About Carney & Sloan Inc
Carney & Sloan Inc was founded in 1997 in Wheeling, West Virginia, by Mike Carney and Ron Sloan as a family-owned food service equipment and supplies company. In December 2023, ownership transferred to Patrick and Christine Opferman, who also operate Opferman Mechanical in Pittsburgh, bringing combined decades of industry experience. The company provides complete commercial kitchen solutions including layout and design (with in-house CAD), engineering, equipment sales, delivery, installation, and ongoing service. Its showroom stocks thousands of items ranging from walk-in coolers, freezers, and combi-ovens to cooking equipment, countertop appliances, smallwares, and beverage systems. The firm also rents refrigerated cooler and freezer trailers and can drop-ship equipment directly from manufacturers. Carney & Sloan serves restaurants, hotels, health care facilities, schools, clubs and organizations, convenience stores, churches, and food trucks across the Wheeling tri-state area. Customers include independent eateries, institutional kitchens, and mobile food operators. The company emphasizes fast local delivery and installation, a public showroom requiring no account, and long-standing vendor relationships that allow tailored equipment solutions.
