About Classic Sofa of NY
Classic Sofa of NY traces its roots to 1982, when it began as a Brooklyn-based factory crafting benchmade furniture. The company later relocated its production to a facility at 728 East 136th Street in the Bronx, New York, while maintaining showrooms in Manhattan, Palm Beach, and Nantucket. In 2012, Blake Anding assumed ownership as President and Head of Design, steering the brand toward a vertically integrated model that keeps design and manufacturing under one roof. The firm produces custom upholstered furniture, drapery, and large-scale furnishings using old-world, hand-crafted techniques. Its Bronx factory turns out benchmade frames from locally sourced hardwoods, and the team offers in-home consultations, progress sit-tests, on-site build, installation, and white-glove delivery. Specialty projects extend to custom wall coverings, window treatments, and full interior outfitting for hospitality venues, yachts, and private jets. Clients span custom residential, trade (interior designers and architects), and commercial sectors. Concrete examples include hospitality installations, yacht interiors, and private-jet cabin furnishings. The company differentiates itself with a lifetime frame guarantee, a commitment to sustainability through longevity, and a Savile Row–level attention to detail that stems from Anding’s English heritage. The vertical operation ensures consistency from design through final inspection.
