About Custom Battery Cables LLC
Custom Battery Cables LLC operates from Mesa, Arizona. The business was launched in 2003 by founder Vince, who began building cables for his own 1948 Willy’s CJ‑2A while studying diesel and heavy‑equipment technology at Maricopa Technical Community College. After a career as a mechanic for firms such as Mountain Bell and Sunstate Equipment, and a 29‑year tenure at Intel in electronics engineering, Vince started the company from a spare room in his home. The shop hand‑builds made‑to‑order battery cables for cars, trucks, boats, RVs, golf carts, solar installations and heavy equipment. Cables are assembled to the customer’s exact length using SAE SGT, SGX or marine‑grade wire, and the company also produces alternator wires with fuse links. A team of seven — including a manufacturing manager, shipping lead, marketing lead and several technicians — handles production, assembly and customer support. The primary markets are automotive, marine, solar, recreational vehicle, golf‑cart and heavy‑equipment sectors. Customers range from individual owners restoring classic vehicles or upgrading high‑output engines to commercial buyers placing bulk orders for fleet or industrial use. The company explicitly invites bulk inquiries alongside its direct‑to‑consumer sales. Vince’s guiding principle, drawn from a mentor’s advice, is to “solve the customer’s problem” — whether that means fixing a hard‑starting snowplow or supplying show‑quality cables. The company differentiates itself by using heavier, higher‑grade wire than typical OEM or auto‑store cables, refusing to cut corners on materials, and building each cable to withstand extreme temperatures and demanding electrical loads.
