About Elgin Industries
Elgin Industries has been based in Elgin, Illinois since its founding in 1919 by Martin Skok Sr. What began as Elgin Machine Works remains under the ownership of the Skok family, now in its third generation with Bill Skok, the founder’s grandson, serving as CEO and Chris Anderson as president and COO. The company operates an ultra‑modern, fully integrated manufacturing campus that includes one of the world’s most advanced in‑house heat‑treat operations, on‑site metallurgy and metrology labs, and CAD design capabilities. Its product portfolio spans engine valvetrain components, chassis parts such as steering, coil springs, bushings and suspension systems, performance parts under the PRO‑STOCK brand, heavy‑duty components, and a line of lubricants and chemical additives. Brands include Elgin, PRO‑STOCK, BLACK ICE, Rx, EMEDY and World Trade. Elgin serves both original‑equipment and aftermarket channels across the automotive, heavy‑duty trucking, industrial, performance‑racing and motorsports sectors. OE customers have included General Motors, Ford, Stellantis‑Chrysler, Navistar, Mack Trucks, John Deere, Federal‑Mogul and Harley‑Davidson. In the aftermarket, the company supplies engine rebuilders and wholesalers worldwide and manages private‑label packaging and distribution for many of those accounts. Elgin emphasizes its century‑long continuity in the same community, comprehensive vertical integration, and quality systems certified to IATF16949 and ISO 14001. It offers a limited lifetime warranty on components, maintains a conflict‑minerals policy aligned with the Dodd‑Frank Act, and participates in industry associations such as AERA, MEMA and the Auto Care Association.
